At long last the New South Wales Government has recognised that many of its Departments have been purchasing supplies from foreign companies to the exclusion of local suppliers. The contract awarded to Office Max and Corporate Express for the supply of stationery products was ridiculous in the first place. Two American corporations being given exclusive rights to all of NSW Health and Education in exchange for a small rebate borders on the obscene.
Let us hope that sanity has prevailed and purchases can be made by Government Departments based on quality and service as well as price.
